We are moving abroad for a year and are renting out our house in Riala, North of Stockholm. It is a traditional wooden house from 1887 and has been renovated to a good standard. Where? The peaceful village of Riala is 50 minutes from central Stockholm, 55 minutes to Arlanda airport and 1 hour from Uppsala. It also sits conveniently about 25 km from Norrtälje, Vallentuna and Åkersberga. The start of the fantastic Stockholm archipelago is just 10 minutes away. The house sits opposite the church in the center of the village with easy access to the primary school (ages 6-12 years), two nurseries, and the bus stop ‘Riala kyrka’. There are buses to Norrtälje, Åkersberga and the connecting bus Stockholm. The bus to Stockholm takes about 1 hour. There are several farms in the area where you can buy some local produce (egg, meat, milk) as well as a local brewery. There is also an active football club and ski club in the village. The house: The house was built in 1887. It has 4.5 rooms, plus kitchen and bathroom. It is currently set up with two bedrooms, a dining room and a sitting room but can of course be a three bedroom house which is what it would have been traditionally. Upstairs in the hallway there is space for a desk and if you go through one of the bedrooms there is a little study with a lovely painted floor and a desk. Downstairs the kitchen and the hallway have laminate floors and in the dining room and sitting room there are newer wooden floors. In the sitting room there is an original wall paper from 1920’s. Upstairs all floor are original wooden floor, some of them painted with patterns. In addition to the rooms there are three spaces for storage. One for clothes storage and two with beds in for guests or for storage. The house is heated with an air source heat pump and oil filled electric radiators. There are also several fireplaces as well as a wooden stove in the kitchen and in one of the bedrooms. The garden: There is a lovely big garden with apple trees, lots of rhubarb and strawberry plants and herbs. There is a musteri about 20 minutes away where you can get your apples or rhubarb turned into must (like a fizzy juice). There is plenty of space if you want to grow your own vegetables or flowers. In the garden there are also outbuildings for some storage or space to do exercise etc. The garden is low maintenance and the grass cutting can be arranged. The house has its own water supply, sewage system, compost, rainwater harvesting, solar panels and fiber internet. The asking price per month is exclusive of bills. The average electricity consumption is 20,000 KWh and with solar panels the average cost for electricity is 2000 – 3000 kr per month (Depending on use). Wood can be arranged. The house is rented out furnished, can be discussed to some extent.
